Tom and Joy do not simply present diversity workshops, but create an entire learning and immersion experience. They foster an atmosphere of trust and comfort that helps participants go beyond the surface level interactions that impede true growth and change. Working from a social justice pedagogy, they see diversity and pluralism beyond the lens of race and include many ways of being as part of the dialogue and experience.

They help participants move beyond guilt, accept some ambiguity and begin seeing and experiencing the world through the eyes of another. Embracing and understanding difference is about opening the heart and forging relationships - the outcome of experiences and perceptions.

Each organization is unique and thus every workshop, lecture and keynote experience is tailored made. However, all experiences include creating a safe and trusting learning atmosphere, and helping others see and be through the eyes of another. The end result includes an awareness and appreciation for others coupled with the knowledge, skill and desire to create action and advocacy.
