Joy Phillips is a Registered Nurse licensed in the state of West Virginia and board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in the area of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing Practice. She received her master's of arts degree in counseling from West Virginia University. She has served many roles in her long career, including HIV Counselor, Womens Health Advocate, Victim Advocate and member of the Department of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Currently she is the Assistant Director of the Student Center/Director of Commuter Affairs and an adjunct faculty member in the Psychology Department at Shepherd University. Joy was recently elected to the Commission on Commuter and Adult Learners Directorate of the American College Personnel Association
Tom Segar is an educational consultant and presents diversity, leadership and community building workshops for colleges, universities, public schools and non-profit organizations around the country. Tom holds a bachelor's of science degree in psychology, with a certificate in Afro-American studies from the University of Maryland and a master's of science degree in Counseling with a specialization in college student personnel from Shippensburg University. He has held student affairs positions at Shippensburg University and Gettysburg College and currently works at Shepherd University in Multicultural Student Affairs and Disability Support Services. Tom was recently admitted to the College Student Personnel doctoral program at the University of Maryland and will begin full-time coursework Fall 2005.
